Board of Visitors minutes May 18, 1921 | ||
Upon the recommendation of the President, James M. Strang,
Instructor in Physiology, was promoted to Assistant Professor
at a salary of $2500; and Dr. Geo. E. Setzler was elected
Assistant University Physician at a salary of $2000, his services
to begin with the session 1921-22. His salary is to be added to
the budget of the Hospital.
The Heating Plant matter was considered and continued, with the
understanding that a definite report be presented at a meeting
of the Board to be held May 31st.
President Alderman, chairman of the special committee
on new gymnasium site, reported that arrangements had been made
with the Y. M. C. A. to purchase the northern section of the
tennis courts at a price of $5,000. Consideration of the
question developed the necessity for certain restrictions to be
made a part of the contract of sale, and as this would require
a further meeting between those interested the Rector was
authorized to meet with the Y. M. C. A. Board and make such
terms as necessary.
The President was authorized to make interim appointments of
assistants, student assistants, scholarship and fellowship holders
and report at the fall meeting of the Board.
On motion the meeting then adjourned.
Rector.
Secretary.
