THE CHEAPEST, BEST & MOST POPULAR LADIES MAGAZINE IN THE WORLD.

PETERSONS LADIES NATIONAL MAGAZINE

☞Greatly Increased in Size, and Improved in Elegance and Merit.☜

EDITED BY MRS. ANN S. STEPHENS, AND CHARLES J. PETERSON.

The great increase in the circulation of this Magazine for 1852, has determined the publisher to spare no
expense for the ensuing year, in order still further to increase its list. He will therefore, add greatly to the
number of pages, without, as other Magazines have done, decreasing the quantity or elegance of the embellishments.
The price, too, will remain a dollar less than its cotemporaries. As the postage also, is less, he
looks for 100,000 subscribers in 1853.

THE FASHIONS EXCLUSIVELY IN THIS MAGAZINE.

This is now the only Magazine which publishes colored steel-plate fashions regularly. To each is added a
full letter-press description, giving information on all the Latest Styles, received direct from London and
Paris. All who wish to know the real Fashions, must take this periodical. In our Eastern cities, it is the
only authority. To the Dress-maker, Milliner, etc., it is invaluable.

MOST READABLE & ORIGINAL OF THE MAGAZINES.

The literary department will be entirely original, instead of being made up, as are all the other Magazines,
of second-rate English stories. During the last two years, this Magazine has been confessedly the
best in the country for Ladies. It has published more brilliant tales and novels in that period, than all its
contemporaries together. During 1853 it will be better than ever. Mrs. Ann S. Stephens, the best romance
writer in America: the author of “Dora Atherton,” and others, will contribute exclusively for 1853. The
domestic stories for which this Magazine is famous, will be continued from the pens of Ella Rodman, Ellen
Ashton, the Author of “Susy L's Diary,” &c., &c., &c

Magnificent Original Embellishments.

For the beauty of its Mezzotint Illustrations, this Magazine is unrivalled, while its Line and Stipple Engravings
are from the First Artists of the World. Colored Embellishments of rare elegance—and indeed every
thing that is Novel, Magnificent or Varied, will be added for 1853.

THE BEST LADIES' MAGAZINE IN THE WORLD.

To complete its attractions for 1853, and render it the best Ladies' Magazine in the World, the Proprietor
has contracted for a Series of Illustrated articles from competent hands, on Horticulture, Crochet-work,
Fashionable Embroidery, and New Household Receipts, more complete than ever yet published in any periodical.
These will render it indispensable in the Family and to Young Ladies. Lastly, it is

A MAGAZINE OF PURE MORALS.

For this purpose immoral French translations, and all other exceptionable articles, shall be rigidly excluded.
Its Stories shall always inculcate purity and refinement. Many of its writers, indeed, have been recommended
by Clergymen for their lofty tone, not less than for their talents.

It will be seen that no Magazine presents half such claims to popularity.
