BLANCHE OF BRANDYWINE,
A ROMANCE OF THE BATTLE OF BRANDYWINE,
Divided into four books — Monthermer, the Rose of Brandywine, the Battle Morn, and
Randulph the Prince.

Tenth edition, 350 pages. Price 75 cents.

This is a story of the Pastoral valley of the Brandywine. It pictures the War Life and
Home Life of the Revolution. The characters of the Lady Isadore, of Blanche and Rose —
of Lord Percy and of Randulph, are powerfully drawn. At once the most quiet, and the
most exciting of this author's works. Among the many scenes of this romance, the following
may be noted for their pathos, interest or beauty: the scene between Washington and Howe
— the escape of Washington —the burning of the aged Patriot's Home — the meeting of
Blanche, Percy and Isadore — the meeting of John and Philip Warford — the scene in the
Quaker graveyard, and the last chapter of the work.

LEGENDS OF MEXICO,
OR, BATTLES OF TAYLOR,

legends, traditions and historical pictures: The New Crusade; Camp in the Wilderness;
The Sisters of Monterey; Death of Ringgold; The dead woman of Palo Alto; The Last

readable book ever written on the War with Mexico.

Tenth edition, 128 pp. Price 25 cents.
