ACTIONS RELATING TO CHAIRHOLDERS

• The following resolution was adopted:
  RESOLVED that the actions relating to chairholders be and they are hereby approved as shown below:

• (a) Election of Chaired Professors

• Mr. Robert L. Grinaker as Carman G. Blough Visiting Professor of Accounting, for two years, effective September 1, 1986.
• Mr. James G. Simmonds as Lawrence R. Quarles Professor of Engineering and Applied Science, effective September 1, 1986.

• (b) Re-election of Chaired Professor

• Mr. William E. Fulmer as The Eleanor F. and Philip G. Rust Visiting Professor of Business Administration, for one semester, effective January 16, 1986.

• (c) Leaves of Absence of Chaired Professors

• Mr. Ernest L. Folk, III, William S. Potter Professor of Law, one semester, with partial pay, effective January 16, 1986, for educational leave.
• Mr. Verdel A. Kolve, Commonwealth Professor of English, for the period June 1, 1986 through May 31, 1988, without pay, to accept a visiting professorship at the University of California, Los Angeles.
• Mr. Enno E. Kraehe, William W. Corcoran Professor of History, for the period January 16, 1986, through January 15, 1987, with partial pay, to do research.
• Mr. Aram Vartanian, William R. Kenan, Jr., Professor of French Literature, for the period January 16, 1987, through January 15, 1988, with partial pay, to do research.

• Correct the leave of absence of Mr. Robert W. Haigh as shown in the Minutes of the meeting of January 31, 1986 to read as follows:
• Mr. Robert W. Haigh, Distinguished Professor of Business Administration, for the period September 1, 1985 through September 30, 1985, without pay, to continue disability leave.

• (e) Change of Title of Chaired Professors

• Mr. Hans W. Gottinger, from Frank Talbott, Jr., Visiting Professor to Visiting Professor of Systems Engineering, for the period September 1, 1986, through May 31, 1987.
• Dr. David E. Longnecker, from Distinguished Professor of Anesthesiology to Harold Carron Professor of Anesthesiology, effective February 1, 1986.
• Mr. Edgar F. Shannon, Jr., from Commonwealth Professor of English, to Linden Kent Memorial Professor of English Literature, effective July 1, 1986.
