RESOLUTION REGARDING THE JOHN LEE PRATT FUND, SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

  • The following resolution was adopted:
  • RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the budget as shown below for the expenditure of $470,761 of funds from the Estate of John Lee Pratt as a supplement to appropriations made by the Commonwealth of Virginia for the School of Medicine for 1977-80 as recommended by the Special Advisory Committee on Pratt Funds of the Center for Advanced Studies, and as approved by the President and the Finance Committee, be and it is hereby approved.

BUDGET PROPOSAL FOR PRATT BEQUEST
SCHOOL OF MEDICINE
1977-80

The Special Advisory Committee of the Center for Advanced Studies has approved the following budget for the Pratt funds in the School of Medicine. In accordance with the Will, funds may be used by the School of Medicine for student support and research. The 1977-78 budgets for the four Arts and Sciences departments (Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics) were submitted to and approved by the Board of Visitors in June 1977. The annual disbursement of the estate is $678,478 to be divided equally between Arts and Sciences and Medicine; in addition there is a one-time allocation of income accumulated before the disbursement program was established of approximately $750,000 to be divided equally. The total amount available to the School of Medicine for 1977-78 is $714,239.
