SESQUICENTENNIAL ASSOCIATES OF THE CENTER FOR
ADVANCED STUDIES
The President reminded the Board of the adoption by the Board of a resolution at its meeting on 7 June 1968, providing for the appointment of Sesquicentennial Scholars beginning with the academic year of 1969-1970. The President stated that, as a result of further study, certain changes were needed in the resolution. He therefore proposed and the Board adopted the following resolution:
- RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the resolution providing for the establishment of the position of Sesquicentennial Scholar as adopted by the Board of Visitors at its meeting on 7 June 1968 be and it is hereby amended and re-enacted to read as follows:
- RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that an amount not to exceed $85,000 of the income of the Robert C. Taylor Fund be used annually to underwrite the appointment, beginning with the academic year of 1969-1970, of members of the faculty of professorial rank at Charlottesville as Sesquicentennial Associates of the Center for Advanced Studies, under such rules and regulations as are approved by the President of the University.
