4944. MAJORITY, Representatives of.—
Our Executive and Legislative authorities
are the choice of the nation, and possess the
nation's confidence. They are chosen because
they possess it, and the recent elections prove
it has not been abated by the attacks which
have for some time been kept up against them.
If the measures which have been pursued are
approved by the majority, it is the duty of
the minority to acquiesce and conform.—
