3446. GEORGE III., Lunacy.—

The lunacy
of the King of England is a decided fact,
notwithstanding all the stuff the English papers
publish about his fevers, delirium, &c. The
truth is that the lunacy declared itself almost at
once, and with as few concomitant complaints
as usually attend the first development of that
disorder.—
To General Washington. Washington ed. ii, 534.
