THE PROTEST OF SPRING

O Spring!
Say not that She is dead.
Green month of bursting flower and leaf
Say not that She is dead.
For joy of life thy tears are shed;
Naught, naught to thee are mine of grief;
April! Fling wide thy disbelief
That She is dead.
