XXI. FAME.
Aspiring souls! henceforward without blameRevere in faith, and fearlessly obey
That generous impulse which inspires your way:
Glory your spur may be, though not your aim.
Love hath its archetype, nor less hath Fame
In Heaven; there shines the light whereof one ray
Is Fame below: re-echoed thence for aye,
Spread the great echoes of God's sacred Name.
God's living Words through all the worlds sent forth,
Support those worlds by them ordained and made:
True Glory is God's sentence, rightly weighed:
His Lips establish all things: and His Eyes
Kindle the universal sacrifice,
And everlasting, of the Heavens and Earth!
