HYMN 69. The Ax lifted up: Or, Wrath Pursuing the Sinner.

1

O Lord, thou Just and Holy One,
wee the Admire do,
That Fruitless Trees are not cut down;
this doth thy Mercy show:

2

Thy Ax is up, O let us fear,
for thou most Righteous art,
The natural branches did'st not spare;

73

3

Let sinners now to Jesus fly,
that grafted they may be
In him, by Faith, most speedily;
no other way can we

4

Find out, for to escape thy Wrath;
and blessed be thy Name,
That ever Jesus, out of Love,

Make thou our Hearts Sincere and Sound,
and we'll rejoyce in Thee;

6

And sing thy Praise, O Lord, most High,
for we have Blessings store;
Help us dear God, our Wants supply,
and we'll sing Evermore.
