From thence a lean Land-breadth before us lies;
For husband folk; of rolling stones and rocks.
Where deeds recorded are, to háve been wrought;
Which eversith hath perplexed Mans halting thought:

Of thé Arabian upland Wilderness;
Outwandered, wíth their cattle, from beyond
Euphrates flood; and Tribes of graziers sith,

Confederate tribes, (their Chronicles thus relate;)
Reaved with armed hand, from who before them dwelt;
Being Peoples of like speech and kindred blood:
As they allege, commanded of their God.

Mongst whom, become a Nation, sith, rose some;
That prophesied, of a day unborn, to come;
When a Celestial Kingdom should descend;
And dwell for ever, in chosen Israels Land.
