Of Alma's glories in an equal strain?
Unskill'd in verse, and to the muses young,
What God, what angel, will inform my tongue?
Aid me, Delaune; instruct me, reverend sire,
With thy own sacred heat my breast inspire:
O! touch my lips with thy cœlestial art,
And with the same devotion fire my heart.
