The Theater of Fine Devices | ||
EMBLEME IIII.
In pleasures vaine no time bestow,
Lest it procure your ouerthrow.
The Flie so often to the milke pan vseth,
Lest it procure your ouerthrow.
That in sweete milke at last her death she taketh:
The foole delights in pleasures that he chuseth,
So long vntill his ruine he awaketh.
But happie he, who so in time refuseth,
And all vaine fancies vtterly forsaketh.
Such one with heed, and graue & good instruction,
Doth wisely shun his perill and destruction.
