"It was well worth the trip," commented one couple from Staunton and according to John Herring. Newcomb Hall Director, that seems to be the general reaction to the Dali Art-in-Jewels Collection.
Since the exhibit opened last Friday just over forty-five hundred people have come to see it, many for the second or third time.
Referring to the exhibition, Mr. Herring said, "the more I see it the more unique it becomes. . . . I wish all students would make an effort to see it."
The leaf-veined hands in the picture above are sculptured gold, cabochon rubies and a single emerald. The hands are titled, "The Hands That Reach Into The Future."
The exhibit is open daily from 10 to 10 except this Sunday when the doors close at 6 p.m. The exhibit leaves the University after the Sunday showing.
