Now plainly in view,
Comes Canaans coast and Carmels fruitful brow.
Is Libanus even reflected, from far off,
The sighings of whose parfumed sacred boughs:
Attuned seem to our souls' inquietudes.
Lo and Hermon, with His snows' exalted Crest;
Leaning to Heaven; Angels' alighting-place:
Frequented óf their wingéd heavenly Host;
An holy Mount, in old Phœnician sight;
Whereof that name He hath; shown in our glass!
