Paraphrased from the following distich of the Philosopher Plato, in Laertius:—
“Αστερας εισαθρεις, αστηρ εμος, ειθε γενοιμην
Ουρανος, ως πολλοις ομμασιν εις σε βλεπω.”

Oh! Psyche, that I were yon sky;
