Heart-torn, but firm, Alfonzo came;Yet paus'd he when he saw the dame,
“Has that sad bosom room for love!”
Oh, there was none his breast to move
For the poor Queen: Don Pedro went,
Fearing again the innocent,

And the dark Juan's moody eyes
Survey'd his foul revenge's prize,
Nor mark'd the tears, nor reck'd the sighs,
Alfonzo breath'd for one so dear.
