BACCHUS ON A PANTHER.

Boy of beauty rare!
With thy lip in roses dyed,
And that harmless, infant air,
Why upon the panther ride,
Boy of beauty rare?
Sweet one! is't to tell
That within thy cup is woe!
That the victim of thy spell
Passion's fiery speed shall know?—
Thou'rt an oracle!
