New Faces

Newcomers in the midfield
include Richie Werner, another high
school All-American and All—Long
Island performer, Dave Driver of
Annapolis, Gary Koch of Annapolis
and Bill Morehead.

Headlining the first year attack
is Al Sadtler of Baltimore who
garnered All-M.S.A. honors in high
school.

On defense honorable
mention All-M.S.A. Bucky Sager,
All-M.S.A. Hooper Goldsboro, Bob
Smith, Ted Coburn, both of
Towson, Md. High School, Long
Island's Frank Etro, and Ed
Spenser could see action.

With the great wealth of
returning talent at every position
except in the goal, these first year
players will have to fight for their
spots on the squad. Third year
goalie John Gaughen is back but
will devote the fall to soccer.

Coach Thiel indicated that the
squad would be "strong on attack
because everybody is back." In
addition to Connor and Duquette,
"everybody" includes Chip Barker,
Dave Garman, Doug Tarring, Rick
Bergland, and John Eppler.
Defensive returnees are Tom
Dawes, a starter last year, Boo
Smith, Stewart Webb, and Mangels.
"Smith." said Thiel, "will probably
step in to start for Schildwachter.
We will have depth on the defense
this year, something we haven't
had."
