THE HEALING OF THE WATERS.
A bitter barren-making stream
The tears that flowed for sin,
Till the great Prophet came, and cast
Salt from the new cruise in.
The tears that flowed for sin,
Till the great Prophet came, and cast
Salt from the new cruise in.
Yet staunched he not the waters so—
That they should flow no more:
He healed their springs, then bid them run
As freely as before:
That they should flow no more:
He healed their springs, then bid them run
As freely as before:
He healed their source, and well has proved
His word not given in vain,
That now they never should bring death
Nor barrenness again.
His word not given in vain,
That now they never should bring death
Nor barrenness again.
