Epig. XI. In Poeticam & paupertatem.
Twixt Poetrie and pouertie is foundCongruitie in sense as well as sound.
The cause is this: when Poetrie did aime
Beyond blind fortunes flight to follow fame,
Twixt O. and E. with R. so to disgrace it.
But Gramer did denie; then Fortune swore
In spight of Gramer Poets should be poore.
