70. On Zacheus.

Short-legg'd Zacheus, 'Twas the happiest Tree
That ever mortall climb'd; I meane, to Thee:

35

Thy paynes in going up, receiv'd the Crowne
Of all thy labour, at thy comming downe:
Thy Statures lownesse gave thee faire occasion
To mount that Tree; that Tree, to find Salvation:
But was't the Tree, Zacheus? No, t'was Hee,
Whose bleeding Body dy'd upon the Tree.
