On a gentleman in fear of bailiffs
.
Sir John, whom oft the bailiffs teas'd,
By iron rail one morn was seiz'd,
Which held his great coat by the tail:
“I'm ready, Sir, but pray be mute;
“How large the debt? and at whose suit?”
“Why, at your own,” replied the rail.
