Charlottesville firemen came out in force Saturday afternoon about 6 p.m., answering a call to Sigma Phi fraternity at 163 Rugby Road, adjacent to the Architecture School. Only slight damage was reported from the fire, which was confined to a mattress in a bedroom on the top floor of the house. A spokesman for the University Security Department said that the cause of the blaze was believed to have been a burning cigarette.
