Students Deterred

The Master Plan Committee,
which drew up the residential college
plan, felt that first-year experiences
with University housing
deterred many students from living
in University housing, according
to Mr. Hickman.

He went on to say that as
part of the plan the McCormick
Road dormitories should be
abandoned as housing for first-year
students and that the rooms
should instead be used as single-man
dwellings for students in the
graduate sciences.
