FAB. XXXVIII. The Lion and Bear.

The Bear and Lyon on a summers day,
A combate held for the divided prey,
When both growne faint with fatigues of wart,
Suffer the fox the prize away to beare.

Morall

Thus nations oft by Civill Conflicts torne
By a third power away the scepter's borne.
