Chap. 48.
The thriftie that teacheth the thriuing to thriue,Teach timelie to trauerse, the thing that thou triue,
Transferring thy toiling, to timelines tought,
This teacheth thee temprance, to temper thy thought.
Take trustie (to trust to) that thinkest to thee,
That trustily thriftines, trowleth to thee.
Then temper thy trauell, to tarie the tide,
This teacheth thee thriftines, twentie times tride.
Take thankfull thy talent, thanke thankfully those,
That thriftilie teacheth, thy time to transpose.
Troth twise to thee teached, teach twentie times ten,
This trade, thou that takest, take thrift to thee then.
