Of pleading where a man is not heard.

It better were that euery wight
should hold his peace alway,
Than for to speake and waste his wind
not being heard for aye:
Yea where the people ne esteeme
his words, but count as vaine,
There were he better hold his peace,
and take no wilful paine.
