MATTHEW V. 8.

Blessed are the pure in heart,
Prepared their God to see!
Jesus, to my soul impart
The spotless purity:
Let Thy grace my soul o'erflow,
And all my sinfulness remove;
Thus the' essential bliss bestow,
The purity of love.
Let Thy Spirit to me explain
The mystery unknown,
Cleansed from every sinful stain,
To love my God alone:

Give me, Lord, the grace to feel,
The length, and breadth, and depth, and height;
Then Thy glorious Self reveal,
And turn my faith to sight.
