Otuwel to þe king saide,
“Sire, keep me wel þat maide,
For soþe ich nele hire neuere wedde,
No neuere wiþ hire go to bedde,
Er þi werre to þe ende be brouȝt,
& sum what of þi wille wrouȝt,
Whan king garsie is slawe or take,
Þanne is time mariage to make.”
