[What victims doth our God demand?]
Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, &c.
—xii. 1.
What victims doth our God demand?
Not thoughtless beasts, or bodies slain:
Ourselves before Thine altar stand,
The reasoning souls of living men;
Our bodies too, through Christ Thy Son,
An holy sacrifice we give,
And serve, and please our God alone,
And only for Thy glory live.
