23. We ought not to regard the contumelies, and calumnies of Lyars, and profane men.
Aspersions, which base people viciouslyInflict upon mens credits, I contemne;
That sentence having small authoritie,
Where he, that is condemned, doth condemne:
And to be hated by a wicked spirit,
Doth argue oftentimes the greater merit.
