CHAPTER XXVI. The poetical works of John and Charles Wesley | ||
2979.
[Jesus' messenger at last]
I know that thou believest
—xxvi. 27.
Jesus' messenger at last
Brings home the pointed word,
Seizes, holds the sinner fast
A captive for his Lord:
See, the vanquish'd monarch see!
He bows to a superior power,
Sinks as one who must agree,
And can resist no more.
