| CHAPTER XXVI. The poetical works of John and Charles Wesley | ||
2967.
[Error, ye Pharisees sincere]
I persecuted them even unto strange cities.
—xxvi. 11.
Error, ye Pharisees sincere,
Ye mean to' exterminate,
Nor know, who hate His members here,
That Christ Himself ye hate;
Exposing us to pain and shame,
While in His steps we move,
Ye act against the Saviour's name,
Ye hate the God of love.
