CHAPTER XXV. The poetical works of John and Charles Wesley | ||
2951.
[I for no favour sue]
For if I be an offender, or have committed, &c.
—xxv. 11.
I for no favour sue,
The vilest and the worst
(If such I am) may claim his due;
Condemn; but hear me first:
Me, as the public foe
Whom guilty they presume,
An heretic, or rebel show,
And without mercy doom.
