The WOODBINES.
CONSCIOUS that we want supporting,
Round the hazle's stems we 'twine;
And, the sun's warm influence courting,
O'er their waving tops recline.
Round the hazle's stems we 'twine;
And, the sun's warm influence courting,
O'er their waving tops recline.
Thus our blossoms far displaying,
O'er the babbling streams are arch'd;
Where the fish, beneath us straying,
By our shades are kept unparch'd.
O'er the babbling streams are arch'd;
Where the fish, beneath us straying,
By our shades are kept unparch'd.

Neither use nor pleasure find.
Tend to benefit mankind;
Which, in solitude delighting,
Neither use nor pleasure find.
