[Beautie hath force to catche the humane sight.]
Beautie
hath force to catche the humane sight.
Sight doth bewitch, the fancie evill awaked.
Fancie we feele, encludes all passions mighte,
Passion rebelde, oft reasons strength hath shaked.
Sight doth bewitch, the fancie evill awaked.
Fancie we feele, encludes all passions mighte,
Passion rebelde, oft reasons strength hath shaked.
No wondre then, though sighte my sighte did tainte,
And though thereby my fancie was infected,
Though (yoked so) my minde with sicknes fainte,
Had reasons weight for passions ease rejected.
And though thereby my fancie was infected,
43
Had reasons weight for passions ease rejected.
But now the fitt is past: and time hath giv'ne
Leasure to weigh what due deserte requireth.
All thoughts so spronge, are from their dwelling driv'n,
And wisdome to his wonted seate aspireth.
Crying in me: eye hopes deceitefull prove.
Thinges rightelie prizde, love is the bande of love.
Leasure to weigh what due deserte requireth.
All thoughts so spronge, are from their dwelling driv'n,
And wisdome to his wonted seate aspireth.
Crying in me: eye hopes deceitefull prove.
Thinges rightelie prizde, love is the bande of love.
