GEORGE MASON COLLEGE LOCAL LEGAL ADVISER

The President reported on the need for a local Legal Adviser for George Mason College in Fairfax. He noted that the Chancellor has proposed the name of A. Hugo Blankingship, Jr., a member of the firm of Boothe, Dudley, Koontz, Blankingship and Stump of Fairfax. Mr. Blankingship received a B.A. degree in 1952 and an LL.B. degree in 1957 from the University of Virginia. While a student, he was president of the Student Council and of the Law School and president of Omicrom Delta Kappa. Mr. Blankingship has practiced law in Fairfax since 1957 as well as serving as City Attorney and Counsel to the School Board of the City of Fairfax.

After discussion, the following resolution was adopted:

  • RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the Legal Adviser of the University of Virginia be and he is hereby authorized to arrange with A. Hugo Blankingship, Jr., of the law firm of Boothe, Dudley, Koontz, Blankingship and Stump of Fairfax, to act as the local legal adviser for George Mason College on a retainer basis in such amount and upon such terms and conditions as may be prescribed by the University Legal Adviser.
