OTHO IN THE TOMB OF CHARLEMAGNE
When Otho, in the Tomb of Charlemagne,Faced the gigantic Skeleton, alone
With orb and sceptre, crowned, upon his throne—
The mighty king who had not ceased to reign—
Shaken with sudden fear, he saw, instead,
Death, crowned, with orb and sceptre there, and fled!
