Senator Scott replaced Richard Cross on the
Board and will serve a four-year term which
expires in February 1975.

A native of Fredericksburg, Senator Scott
received his bachelor's degree from
Randolph-Macon College in 1922. While a
student at the University Senator Scott was
secretary of the Jefferson Society.

Prior to his election to the Senate, Senator
Scott served as Representative to the Sixth
District of Pennsylvania for 16 years.

Senator Scott became a member of the
Virginia Bar in 1922. He practiced law in
Philadelphia and acted as counsel and assistant
district attorney.

He also served as chairman of the
Republican National Committee for 1948-49,
chairman of the Regional Organization
Committee for the Eisenhower campaign in
1952, and general counsel for the National
Committee for 1955-60. He is a member of the
American, Pennsylvania, and Philadelphia Bar
Associations.
