THE GENTLEMAN'S CHOICE.

Of parentage suitable,
Pious and dutiful,
Graceful and beautiful,
Loving but me;
Her frolic not madness,
Her zeal without sadness,
Her smile beaming gladness,
This must she be.
Hands soft and delicate,
Voice like sweet music set,
Eyes that when mine are met
Kindling rejoice,
Patient mid chiding,
Fond and confiding,
At home still abiding,
This is my choice.
