Whipped Hampden Sydney

Humbling Hampden-Sydney
by the 14-point margin last
week, the Keydets received
their come-uppance Monday
against George Washington in
Lexington. Our VMI source
noted, "We're usually a good
shooting team, but last night
we stunk up the place."

Down by 19 at the half,
VMI came within six points of
the Colonials, 74-68, but
faltered in the stretch and
succumbed 85-73. All five
Keydet starters hit in double
figures, with Tyler and Chapin
leading the club with 15
points. Tyler also added 12
'bounds.
