| CHAPTER IX. The poetical works of John and Charles Wesley | ||
2564.
[Great things ordain'd for Thee to do]
I will shew him how great things he must, &c.
—ix. 16.
Great things ordain'd for Thee to do,
Thou dost our souls prepare
By labouring strength, and patience too
Great things for Thee to bear;
Afflictions with Thy grace abound,
And make Thy favourites known,
And those who suffer most are found
The nearest to Thy throne.
