EPIGRAM. On Miss B---R.
Had she been first of Womankind,
We'd been from Ills exempt;
Heaven could not doubt so pure a Mind,
Nor Hell presume to tempt:
We'd been from Ills exempt;
Heaven could not doubt so pure a Mind,
Nor Hell presume to tempt:
But, had she first of Women been,
With all that Beauty's Store,
Heaven, after such Perfection seen,
Had ne'er created more.
With all that Beauty's Store,
Heaven, after such Perfection seen,
Had ne'er created more.
