CHAPTER VII. The poetical works of John and Charles Wesley | ||
2488.
[If God to man a promise make]
Yet He promised that He would give it to him, &c.
—vii. 5.
If God to man a promise make

And must His word fulfil;
With humble faith's simplicity
The means to God we leave,
Deceived Himself He cannot be,
He cannot us deceive.
