[Conscious of Jesus near]

And none of the disciples durst ask Him, &c. —xxi. 12.

Conscious of Jesus near,
Struck dumb through humble fear,
While we feel His power and love
Taste unutterable peace,
Dare we in His presence move,
Need we ask Him who He is?
We know He is the Lord
By earth and heaven adored,
On His plenitude we feed,
Cannot doubt or disbelieve,
Take in Him the real bread,
Bread which none but God can give.
