| CHAPTER XIII. The poetical works of John and Charles Wesley | ||
2060.
[The secret of the Lord is known]
Peter . . . beckoned to him, that he should ask, &c.
—xiii. 24.
The secret of the Lord is known
To saints whose hearts are kept above,
Who cleave by faith to Christ alone,
And humbly fear, because they love;
Jesus, on whom their souls rely,
Their every prayer and sigh receives;
Nothing He can to such deny,
And more than all they ask He gives.
