CHAPTER XII. The poetical works of John and Charles Wesley | ||
2012.
[Fain would I my Redeemer see]
We would see Jesus.
—xii. 21.
Fain would I my Redeemer see,
As when extended on the tree
He groan'd beneath my sinful load,
He pour'd out all His sacred blood:
Above, I want this only sight,
To view the Lamb by His own light,
To' admire the lustre of those scars,
Which brightens all the morning stars!
