Fondnesse of man to love a shee,
Were beauties Image on her Face
So carv'd by Immortality,
As envious time cannot disgrace.
Who shall weigh a Lovers paine,
fain'd smiles a while his hopes may steere
but soon reduced by sad disdaine

to the first principles of feare.
Then farewell fayrest ne're will I,
Pursue uncertain blisses more:
Who sayles by womans constancy,
Shipwracks his Love on every shore.
